The best part of living near the lake is opportunities to visit places such as the Waterfront Cafe. Brought to life by strings of colorful lights and live music on certain nights, the cafe is in a landmark historic coach house and it is lovely addition the Edgewater neighborhood. The cafe is located inside Berger Park alongside the North Lakeside Cultural Center, formerly among the lakefront mansions that used to populate the neighborhood. Today the remaining lakefront mansions have been converted by various institutions preserving history and adding character to the neighborhood. The Waterfront Cafe has a stunning backdrop, the beautiful Lake Michigan. The calming crashing of the waves and the cafe music can melt away the worries of a stressful day. The cafe is only operational seasonally during the warm months of the year.
